4 Common Pest Paths Give your home

Pests have an incredible ability to find weaknesses in your home and enter. You have time all day to infiltrate your room, and you have only a few times to defend yourself. Fight smarter, not harder, by learning what shortcuts insects, rodents and other small pests need to break your perimeter. Prevention is the best protection for your home.

1. Windows and Doors

Two of the most common types of pests that are injured are constantly overlooked. Even the smallest opening around a window or door is enough to attack all kinds of pests. Check door openings and door frames, including garage door gates, and replace if you notice any cracks, missing parts or signs of wear.

Use a flashlight to detect any cracks and cracks on windows and doors to let in insects. Stand with the light on one side of the door or window and leave someone on the other side. Gently wrap the light around the edges of the opening and ask the person to tell you if the light is shining through. Use Caulking to easily crack cracks on windows and doors.

2. Fans and valves

Take a look at all your exhaust fans and your dryer. If there are other gas or sanitary openings, or if the lines are from the inside to the outside, inspect these areas for cracks.

Make sure everything is turned off and the fans and valve are not used. Then hold a hand to see if the air is coming in. This may indicate that you have a small opening through which pests can also penetrate. Seal cracks or gaps with tape or seal.

.3. chimneys

Pests can also enter your house through the chimney. This is a sensitive problem - you can't always seal the chimney. However, you can install a wire mesh that keeps insects and rodents away while the smoke can propel the chimney. Check your screen for signs of damage at least once a year and repair small holes that may allow pests to enter.

Take a look at the exterior of your home. Look for places where branches touch your house and cut them back. With these branches, carpenter ants can penetrate your house and cause heavy damage to the wood. Branches can also form a bridge for other pests. Keep each leaf close to your house well maintained.

Be sure to keep out pests to protect your home well. Pests use the smallest opportunity to infect your home, and when they are in it you have to deal with it. It is much easier if you can keep them at home at the moment.
